Gruff Rhys has announced details of a UK tour to take place in February next year.

Gruff Rhys has been shortlisted for the Gordon Burn Prize for his book American Interior. Rhys has been nominated alongside five other writers for a £5,000 award for his writings, part of a multimedia project which included an album and a film. The prize, now in its second year, will be judged by comedian, actor and musician Julian Barratt, poet John Burnside, artist Sarah Lucas and novelist Benjamin Myers, who won the award last year for his book, Pig Iron.

Gruff Rhys tells Uncut about his new American Interior venture – a film, book and new album – and the future of Super Furry Animals, in the new issue, dated May 2014 and out now. “I think we’ve done too much to not do more stuff,” says Rhys of SFA. “We’ve all got kids and I’ve been at home for two years – I’ve hardly had to tour, happily. I hadn’t been off tour since I was 16. It’s healthy to not be part of an industrial touring life.

Neon Neon, the band helmed by Super Furry Animals singer Gruff Rhys and producer Boom Bip, have confirmed details of their second album.
