Many responded, and this CD collects 28 of the best, and worst, examples, including the most notorious?John Trubee’s “Blind Man’s Penis”?and much genuine strangeness, featuring love songs to carpet bugs, Richard Nixon, masturbation and green fingernails. The most prominent figure is one Rodd Keith, whose “Heartbroken Pain” was later covered by Yo La Tengo.
