Their peers PiL may remain fashionable, but although Killing Jokeโ€™s influence surfaces still in bands like Metallica and The Foo Fighters, it seems their reappraisal has been lost in the post. Sadly, this album wonโ€™t help. A primer rather than a best-of, itโ€™s frustratingly patchy. Debut single โ€œThe Waitโ€ and a taster of the Conny Plank-produced Revelations are sensible choices, but rather than the storming โ€œKings & Queensโ€ or โ€œEightiesโ€ from Night Time, thereโ€™s โ€œTabazanโ€, and Colemanโ€™s woeful solo effort from โ€™88 is given an airing, instead of his bandโ€™s extraordinarily powerful LP of last year. Not for beginners.
