COLD WAR KIDS
Christian rock may sound distinctly unpalatable, but Californian quartet Cold War Kids have achieved both critical credibility and a massive fan base while singing (obliquely) about such subjects as sexual abstinence, teetotalism and original sin.
Probably, it’s because their Zach Braff-approved mix of bluesy rock, jittery pop soundscaping and clanking, punky polkas is so sharp and intriguing, as latest album, ‘Robbers & Cowards’ attests.
Expect to hear most of that when they play the Obelisk Arena at Latitude on Sunday.
Latitude takes place July 12 – 15 at Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk.
