The 14th Uncut Playlist Of 2011

An extra-long list this week, since we seem to have worked our way through more stuff than usual. A lot of good stuff, too, I’d say, with one or two exceptions, and a tremendous new mystery record that’s coming out in the summer and which hasn’t, I think, been announced as yet – hence the necessary evasiveness.

The 13th Uncut Playlist Of 2011

An abundance of goodness here, beginning with the great new Raphael Saadiq album, and a wonderful and unexpected return to form from The Beastie Boys.

The 12th Uncut Playlist Of 2011

All about Virender Sehwag as I type, but I’ve also just taken delivery of a bunch of new Mego releases that look great, including the Mark McGuire comp that’s playing now.

The 11th Uncut Playlist Of 2011

One more plug, first off, for the Arbouretum Club Uncut show tomorrow night (Thursday, March 24). London Borderline, support from Alexander Tucker, a few tickets available here. Can’t wait.

The 10th Uncut Playlist Of 2011

A nice list again this week, with a terrific new White Denim album arriving late yesterday afternoon.

The Ninth Uncut Playlist Of 2011

After whingeing about the last couple of playlists, I think there’s a lot more good stuff arrived for this week’s effort.

The Eighth Uncut Playlist Of 2011

Thanks to everyone who contributed to last week’s very interesting playlist thread. If you haven’t had a look, there’s some good talk about the Radiohead and REM albums; dubious thanks to John E, who successfully encouraged/goaded me into unpacking a good month or two’s worth of irritation with regard to “Collapse Into Now”. Better now.

The Seventh Uncut Playlist Of 2011

I was hoping to include the new Wild Beasts album, “Smother”, in this week’s rundown, but it doesn’t seem to have turned up yet. Today, hopefully.

The Sixth Uncut Playlist Of 2011

Yet another period of quietness to apologise for, though I do have the excuse this week of having been away working in the States. More about that later, and, hopefully, some more proper blogs next week. Maybe we should start with Radiohead and “King Of Limbs”, do you think?

The Fifth Uncut Playlist Of 2011

Finishing the issue, so have to be quick today. It all goes a bit early ‘90s towards the bottom of the list this week. Nice to dig out the Suntanama records from about a decade ago, though, prompted by the discovery that Dave Shuford/D Charles Speer figured in their lineup.
