This Month In Uncut!

The new issue of Uncut, which hits shelves on January 31, features The Beatles, Television, Neil Young, The Jam and more. On the cover is a 50th anniversary special celebrating The Beatles’ debut at Hamburg’s Star-Club. We chart the pre-Fabs' incredible time in the German city, where intense, raucous performances and exposure to fashionable young Germans and some seriously debauched nightlife shaped their sound and image.

Latitude: Broken Records, DM Stith, The XX, The Airborne Toxic Event

There's less of the pushchairs and families at this year’s Latitude, but the site seems busier than ever - enough people to give Broken Records a pretty large crowd on the main Obelisk Arena stage.

Club Uncut @ The Great Escape: White Denim, School Of Seven Bells, Three Trapped Tigers, Banjo Or Freakout – 16/05/09

Banjo Or Freakout open the last of Uncut's nights at The Great Escape, perhaps the weirdest line-up of the weekend, with a pretty uncompromising set.

Club Uncut @ The Great Escape: Abe Vigoda, Vivian Girls, The Phantom Band, Crystal Antlers, Blind Pilot – 15/05/09

If last night was loosely the folk night of Club Uncut’s Great Escape bill, this is probably the ‘rock’ or ‘psych’ night.

Club Uncut @ The Great Escape: The Acorn, The Week That Was, Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, DM Stith – 14/05/09

Club Uncut is back at The Great Escape, and this year proceedings are taking place in the civilised surroundings of the Pavilion Theatre.

Club Uncut: Pink Mountaintops, Django Django, Sparrow And The Workshop – May 11, 2009

This month's Club Uncut openers, Sparrow And The Workshop, are an interesting beast - a Scottish folk trio on mainly acoustic instruments, there's a real violent attack to their sound.
