Yoko Ono is to release two 10-inch vinyl records to mark her 82nd birthday โ โAntony & Yokoโ and โYoko Ono & John Zornโ.
The singer collaborates with Antony Hegarty and John Zorn for the records, which will be released on February 18 as part of a Yoko Ono series that has included collaborations with Tune-Yards, Iggy Pop, and Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon.
On โAntony & Yokoโ, Ono and Hegarty perform a vocal duet over piano on song โI Love You Earthโ, while โYoko Ono & John Zornโ features an โintense and imaginativeโ improvisation, โBlinkโ.
Ono previously performed โBlinkโ live on WNYC at the stationโs Greene Space in November 2012. Proceeds from the sale of the song will go to The Stone, John Zornโs non-profit New York performance space.
Onoโs birthday will also see the release of a new book by Bob Gruen and Judy Denberg called โSee Hear Yokoโ. It will include black and white photos of the singer, as well as 25 yearsโ worth of interviews.
