Tom Jones has said that he โwould loveโ to do a full album with Jack White.
The Welsh crooner collaborated with White for a one-off release on his Third Man Records label earlier this year, recording a version of Frankie Laneโs track โJezebelโ and a cover of Howlinโ Wolfโs โEvilโ for the release.
Speaking to NME backstage at V Festival in a video which you can see at the bottom of the page, Jones said that heโd enjoyed the collaboration immensely and would love to turn it into a full album.
Asked about working with White, the singer said: โJack White had an idea for two songs โEvilโ and โJezabelโ, which is an old Frankie Lane song and he had a new arrangement for it. So he said to me โDo you know these songs?โ and I said โYes, I know both of themโ.โ
He continued: โI was in Nashville at the time so we got together and we did the two songs. Iโd love to do an album with Jack White in the future.โ
Jones also spoke about his role as a judge on BBC1 reality series The Voice and said that though he hoped to return for a second series, nothing was confirmed yet.
Asked whether he would return, he replied: โWeโre talking about it now. The BBC would like me to do another one and I did have a lot of fun doing the first one. There are things that we need to change, things we know we can make better, but it looks like Iโm going to do it. We havenโt rubber stamped it yet.โ
He continued: โJessie J wants to knows if Iโm going to do it, I want to know if sheโs going to do it. I think will.i.am wants to do it and I think Danny OโDonoghue wants to do it. Hopefully the four of us will be the same, thatโs the key I think. We worked so well together, if you take one out, itโs going to be like the missing piece of the puzzle.โ
Tom Jones released his 40th studio album โSpirit In The Roomโ earlier this year.
