The Pretty Things’ self-titled debut of 1965 is a rough-and-ready affair in the then-current definition of R&B. From the same year, Get The Picture? advances into more generalised beat music, including more band originals. Emotions is out-and-out pop, disfigured by terrible brass and string arrangements.
